Sinossi / Synopsis

Dopo l'improvvisa morte del padre, Simon e Jonathan escogitano una battuta di pesca con la vaga idea di trovare il cottage di famiglia da qualche parte sulle rive dell'immenso Bacino Gouin.

After the sudden death of their father, Simon and Jonathan dream up a fishing trip with the vague idea of finding the family cottage somewhere on the banks of the immense Gouin Reservoir.

Biografia del regista / Director Biography

Originario dei Laurentiani, Kim St-Pierre arrivò a Montreal nel 2002 e cadde nel movimento Kino. Durante i suoi studi in comunicazione, sceneggiatura e produzione presso UQÀM, ha diviso il suo tempo tra scioperi studenteschi, un lavoro adorato in un leggendario club video e diverse apparizioni in programmi di quiz televisivi; e ha trovato il tempo di produrre e dirigere più di 30 cortometraggi indipendenti in 10 anni. In particolare "Insultes à mon intelligence, "Les Objets" ..., "Le Long weekend" e "La Rupture extraordinaire di Ariane et Thomas", che le hanno permesso di viaggiare per il mondo grazie ai festival. Dopo un'incursione in video musicali con NùFilms, poi in distribuzione a Les Films du 3 mars, Kim ha lasciato il mondo aziendale ed è tornata a scuola, questa volta studiando come regista nel programma cinematografico L’inis. Alla fine ha lasciato il segno con il canneberge della Vodka e ha vinto il Premio della giuria al Fantastique week-end du court-métrage québécois del Fantasia festival. L'avvento della fiction sul web ha stimolato i succhi creativi di Kim. Ha realizzato Le Pixel Mort e poi Le Chum de ma mère est a terrestre, entrambi nominati per Gemini Awards, Numix e La Rochelle WebTV Festival. Un grande sostenitore del brainstorming, Kim ha sviluppato una moltitudine di progetti televisivi per diversi anni, principalmente con i team Pixcom e Amalga. Reservoir segna il suo ritorno alla sceneggiatura, al cinema e al suo passaggio dai cortometraggi al lungometraggio.

Originally from the Laurentians, Kim St-Pierre arrived in Montreal in 2002 and fell into the Kino movement. During her studies in communication, screenplay and production at UQÀM, she divided her time between student strikes, a work adored in a legendary video club and several appearances in television quiz programs; and has taken the time to produce and direct more than 30 independent short films in 10 years. In particular "Insultes à mon intelligence," Les Objets "...," Le Long weekend "and" La Rupture extraordinaire by Ariane et Thomas", which allowed her to travel the world thanks to the festivals. After a foray into music videos with NùFilms, then in distribution at Les Films du 3 mars, Kim left the corporate world and returned to school, this time studying as a director in the film program at L'INIS. In the end she left her mark with Vodka Canneberge and won the jury prize at the Fantastique week-end du court-métrage québécois of the Fantasia festival. The advent of fiction on the web stimulated Kim's creative juices. She made Le Pixel Mort and then Le Chum de ma mère est a extra-terrestre, both nominated for Gemini Awards, Numix and La Rochelle WebTV Festival. A major supporter of brainstorming, Kim has developed a multitude of television projects for several years, primarily with the Pixcom and Amalga teams. Reservoir marks her return to screenplay, the cinema and her transition from short films to feature films.
