Sinossi / Synopsis

Notte, strada nazionale. Due sconosciuti si incontrano per la prima volta in una vecchia stazione di servizio. Uno ha smesso di rifornire di carburante la sua bici, mentre l'altro è solo bloccato. Mancando i 22,50 € di cui ha bisogno per tornare a casa, proverà a vendergli la distanza che li separa dal cielo.

Night, national road. Two strangers meet for the first time at an old gas station. One has stopped to gas up his bike, while the other is just stranded. Lacking the 22.50€ he needs to get home, he will try to sell him the distance that separates them from the sky.

Biografia del regista / Director Biography

Vasilis Kekatos (1991) è uno scrittore / regista greco con sede ad Atene. Dopo essersi diplomato alla School of Arts della Brunel University di Londra, ha vinto il Sundance Ignite Short Film Challenge 2016 con il suo cortometraggio Zero Star Hotel. Nel 2017 ha partecipato a Euro Connection a Clermont-Ferrand, nonché a Nisi Masa ESP, con la sceneggiatura del suo cortometraggio The Silence of the Dying Fish. Il film è stato presentato in anteprima mondiale a Locarno Film Festival (2018) e in anteprima americana al Sundance Film Festival (2019), mentre è stato selezionato anche in numerosi festival in tutto il mondo, come Palm Springs, ZINEBI e Villeurbanne, dove ha vinto il premio Best Film. Il suo ultimo cortometraggio, The Distance Between Us and the Sky, sarà presentato in anteprima mondiale al Festival di Cannes, nell'ambito del concorso per cortometraggi. Vasilis sta attualmente lavorando alla sceneggiatura per il suo film d'esordio.

Vasilis Kekatos (1991) is a Greek writer/director based in Athens. After graduating from Brunel University’s School of Arts in London, he won Sundance Ignite Short Film Challenge 2016 with his short Zero Star Hotel. In 2017, he participated in Euro Connection in Clermont-Ferrand, as well as in Nisi Masa ESP, with the scriptof his short The Silence of the Dying Fish. The film had its world premiere in Locarno Film Festival (2018) and its US premiere in Sundance Film Festival (2019), while it has also been selected in many festivals around the world, like Palm Springs, ZINEBI and Villeurbanne, where it won Best Film. His latest short The Distance Between Us and the Sky will have its world premiere in Cannes Film Festival, as part of the Short Films Competition. Vasilis is currently working on the script for his debut feature.
