Charles Williams
Charles Williams è cresciuto in una città di campagna nel nord Victoria, lontano da qualsiasi cosa collegata al cinema, fatta eccezione per l'ossessione per i film. Sebbene la sua famiglia dipendesse in gran parte dall'assistenza del governo, ha trovato un modo per fare film con attrezzature "prese in prestito" dalla scuola locale e, ancora adolescente, ha vinto il premio per il miglior regista al Tropfest. Negli ultimi dieci anni i suoi acclamati film sono stati proiettati e premiati in alcuni dei festival cinematografici più prestigiosi del mondo tra cuiClermont Ferrand, SXSW, Telluride, Toronto, MIFF,Flickerfest e Sapporo. Il suo ultimo cortometraggio “All These Creatures” (2018) è stato premiato con la Palma d'Oro al Festival di Cannes e ha vinto numerosi premi in tutto il mondo tra cui Miglior Cortometraggio all'Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA). Attualmente sta sviluppando progetti di lungometraggio: "Inside" e "The Buzzard".
Charles Williams grew up in a country town in northern Victoria, far from anything connected to filmmaking, except for an obsession with movies. Though his household was largely dependent on government assistance, he found a way to make films with equipment ‘borrowed’ from the local school and, while still in his teens, won the Best Director award at Tropfest. Over the past decade his acclaimed films have screened and won awards at some of the world’s most prestigious film festivals including Clermont-Ferrand, SXSW, Telluride,Toronto, MIFF, Flickerfest and Sapporo. His latest short film "All These Creatures" (2018) has been awarded the Palme D'Or at the Cannes Film Festival and won numerous awards worldwide including Best Short Film at the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA). He is currently developing feature projects"Inside" and "The Buzzard".
