Sinossi/Plot:

Il film intende far luce su un personaggio noto solo a pochi specialisti del mondo della boxe: Joe Esposito, il Toro del Pallonetto. Attraverso il racconto della sua vita, sono ripercorsi alcuni tra i più importanti eventi storici del Novecento: dal fascismo alla Liberazione, dal processo migratorio verso l’America all’invasione sovietica dell’Ungheria. La leggendaria vicenda di Joe è stata ingiustamente macchiata per anni dallo scandalo scommesse, ma Giuseppe Esposito rappresenta una figura esemplare per la città di Napoli: uomo di umili origini che ha lottato per costruirsi un futuro, riuscendo a resistere e combattere contro ogni avversità di un infausto destino. Un solo problema: Joe Esposito non è mai esistito.

The movie wants to inquire into a character known only by a few specialists in the boxing world: Joe Esposito, The Pallonetto Bull. Through his lifestory, some of the most important events of the 20th century are explored: from Fascism to Liberation, from migration towards US to the Soviet Hungary invasion. The legendary figure of Joe has been unjustly forgotten for years, but Giuseppe Esposito represents an hero for the city of Naples: an humble man who won his struggle against an unfortunate destiny. The only problem: Joe Esposito never existed.
