“Need of Social” is the "Social World Film Festival"’s slogan. The first edition will be held from 26th to 29th may 2011, in the charming Vico Equense, famous landscape of Sorrento Coast.

The "Social Word Film Festival", the festival in the festivals, basically aims to a social action. Therefore it is not only a film show but a cause of cultural integration.

Several people are increasingly approaching to low budget short films, documentaries with social issue. Therefore people are becoming more interested in films that tell common life situations, which television does not show anymore. So this is the reason why a “social need” rises, with the purpose of support films about every day life social relations.

During last year, the "Social Word Film Festival" in association with others Italian film shows, has given the “Golden Spike” award to films with a social theme, which performed high technical skills.

For the first edition, the "Social Word Film Festival" is honoured to collaborate with twelve international festival partners such as the one of Roma, Firenze, Siena, Napoli, Capri, Vittorio Veneto, Lipari, Cagliari, Maiori, Latina and Telese Terme.

International documentaries, short or full-length films will take part to the first edition of Social Word Film Festival. Italian, Spanish, German, Brasilian and American films that had won the “Golden Spike Award” before, will compete for the Social Word Film Festival Award in the “Official Section”.
